Barbados Sailing Week and the Round Barbados Race
The Barbados Sailing Week 2022 will be held from 18th January to 23rd January with racing commencing on January 21st with the Round Barbados Race.
Coastal Races will take place on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rdh January. Starts and finishes will be in Carlisle Bay.
The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the current Racing Rules of Sailing.
The CSA rating rules will apply to CSA classes.
No national prescriptions shall apply.
In case of conflict between the Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions the Sailing Instructions will prevail. This changes RRS 63.7.
3. Eligibility – Coastal Races
The Coastal races shall be open to all classes of sailing boat including all classes of dinghies, kite boarders and windsurfers. Dinghy racing will take place entirely within Carlisle Bay.
3.1 The Coastal races will have classes for:
3.1.1 Monohull boats with a CSA rating will be split into CSA Racing Class and CSA Cruising Class
3.1.2 Monohull boats without a CSA rating will be given a local rating which may change during the Regatta.
3.1.3 Multihull with a CSA rating will be split into CSA Racing Class and CSA Cruising Class
3.1.3 Multihull boats without a CSA rating will be given a local rating which may change during the regatta
3.1.4 J 24 Class
3.1.5 Windsurfer Class
3.1.6 Kite boarders Class
3.1.7 Dinghy Class
The Race Committee reserves the right to adjust classes based on entries

4. Round Barbados Race
Open to all classes over 25 feet
4.1 Special permission may be granted to boats under 25 feet at the discretion of the Race Committee
4.2 The direction around the island will be clockwise / North about
US$2 per foot length overall for Coastal Races and the ' Round Barbados Race Race
Entry forms received after 3pm on Thursday 20th January 2022 will incur a US$ late payment penalty of US$50. US

7. Registration and Briefings
7.1 Participants are asked to pre-register on line.
7.2 Boats shall complete registration between
11am and 6pm Tuesday 18th January
11 am and 6pm Wednesday 19th
11am and 3pm Thursday 20th at the Barbados Cruising Club office.
7.3 Skippers Briefings are shown in the schedules.
7.4 Skippers entered in a CSA rating class shall produce a valid CSA rating certificate at registration.

13. Disclaimer of Liability
13.1 The Barbados Cruising Club Inc., Race Organisers and sponsors shall not be liable for any loss, damage, death or personal injury howsoever caused to the owner/skipper or crew as a result of their taking part in races or any part of Barbados Sailing Week. Moreover, every owner /skipper warrants the suitability of his/her boat for the regatta.
13.2 The safety of a boat and her entire management including insurance shall be the sole responsibility of the owner/skipper who must ensure that the boat is fully sound, thoroughly seaworthy, manned by a crew sufficient in number and experience who are physically fit to face bad weather. He/she must ensure that all safety equipment is properly maintained, stowed and in date and that the crew knows where it is kept and how it is to be used.
13.3 The owner/skipper bears full responsibility for the conduct and good behaviour of their crew and guests for the duration of Barbados Sailing Week.
13.4 Neither the establishment of these conditions nor their use by the Barbados Cruising Club Inc. or by the Race organisers in any way limits the absolute responsibility of the owner/skipper. The crew is nonetheless advised to satisfy themselves as to the experience of the skipper and the adequacy of all safety equipment and insurance arrangements.
13.5 It is a condition of entry that the owner/skippers taking part in Barbados Sailing Week accept the disclaimer of liability on behalf of themselves and their crew.
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4 Decision to Race. The organising authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during or after the regatta.
Competitors are strongly advised to hold third party liability insurance valid for racing during the regatta.
Coastal Racing Series: Prizes will be awarded based on overall results in each class. Round Barbados Race : Prizes will be awarded based on rated results in monohull, multihull and line honors.
17. Covid regulations

The official Notice Board will be located on the ground floor terrace of the Barbados Cruising Club and at the Barbados Yacht Club.
