The Location:

Carlisle Bay Barbados – The Barbados Cruising Club

The Regatta Headquarters will be located in Carlisle Bay at the Barbados Cruising Club, Aquatic Gap, St Michael, and its bar and restaurant Skippers on the Beach.

Some of the events will also be held at the adjacent Barbados Yacht Club .

Carlisle Bay is a protected anchorage in a crescent-shaped bay forming a natural harbour on the west coast of Barbados. The main sailing competitions start here.

As the main harbour adjoining the capital city of Bridgetown, Carlisle Bay was once full of merchant vessels and cargo schooners, particularly those of the British. Today you find catamarans and luxury yachts anchored here. It is the main destination for snorkeling at three spectacular underwater wrecks and a favourite spot for beachgoers on its endless stretch of white sand. Carlisle Bay is named after the Earl of Carlisle, James Hay, Lord Proprietor of Barbados, in the 1600s. The bay lies in the heart of a Barbados UNESCO World Heritage Site.
